The cause of high cholesterol in men is not fully understood, but it is thought to be due to genetic disorders and/or hormonal imbalances. It is used with some anti-hyperlipid medications (CELEBREW), to improve cholesterol levels in men. Crestor (rosuvastatin) is used to treat various forms of benign hypercholesterolemia. It works by lowering the amount of cholesterol in the blood, thus reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Crestor is usually taken once daily, with or without food.Crestor (rosuvastatin) may be used as an adjunct to diet to lower cholesterol levels.
Crestor (rosuvastatin) is a statin that is used to reduce high cholesterol levels. It is available in generic form as Lipitor (atorvastatin), Crestor (rosuvastatin), or Zocor (atorvastatin).Crestor (rosuvastatin) may be used to lower the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and blood clots in individuals with high cholesterol. The FDA has approved this drug for use in adults with high cholesterol, as well as for individuals who have coronary artery disease or heart disease.Crestor (rosuvastatin) may also be used to treat or prevent strokes and blood clots in individuals with high cholesterol. The dosage of Crestor (rosuvastatin) varies depending on the individual and the condition being treated. The usual starting dose of Crestor is 20 mg taken once a day with or without food.Crestor (rosuvastatin) may also be used as a preventive measure to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes in individuals who are at increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The dosage and schedule may be adjusted to the individual’s needs.
Background:Drugs with cholesterol-lowering effects are a potential treatment for patients with hyperlipidemia. We hypothesized that patients taking statin drugs and statins should also be offered a lower dose of these drugs (Crestor vs Lipitor) to reduce LDL cholesterol levels and achieve therapeutic LDL levels.
Objectives:To evaluate whether patients receiving a lower dose of Crestor (10, 20, 40 and 80 mg) would have a reduced risk of hyperlipidemia, compared to those on a lower dose of Lipitor (10, 20, 40 and 80 mg).
Methods:Forty adult patients with hyperlipidemia were enrolled in a double-blind, randomized, crossover trial. Patients received 40 mg of Crestor (10, 20, 40 and 80 mg) or Lipitor (10, 20, 40 and 80 mg) in the first 24 hours of treatment and placebo in the same 24 hours post-intervention. Lipitor and Crestor dose was determined by measuring lipid concentration in plasma. Patients were followed up at weekly intervals by either 1 year or year after the last dose of therapy. Patients were also followed up until the end of the study, and the study subjects were evaluated for a mean follow-up of approximately 3 years.
Results:At the end of the study, patients receiving 40 mg of Crestor had a significantly lower LDL cholesterol concentration than those receiving placebo, compared to those receiving placebo. The mean LDL cholesterol was reduced by approximately 9%, and the LDL cholesterol was also reduced by approximately 3%. At the end of the study, the mean LDL cholesterol was reduced by nearly 8% after treatment with 40 mg of Crestor. Patients receiving 40 mg of Crestor also had a lower LDL cholesterol compared to those receiving placebo. Patients receiving 40 mg of Crestor had a reduced LDL cholesterol than those receiving placebo. There was no significant difference in LDL cholesterol at the end of the study and at follow-up, but the LDL cholesterol reduction was statistically significant at the end of the study and at follow-up. The mean LDL cholesterol was also reduced by approximately 3% after treatment with 40 mg of Crestor. In addition, LDL cholesterol was significantly reduced by approximately 7% after treatment with 40 mg of Crestor. Patients receiving 40 mg of Crestor had a statistically significant reduction of LDL cholesterol compared to those receiving placebo. The LDL cholesterol reduction was also statistically significant at the end of the study and at follow-up.
Conclusions:Patients with hyperlipidemia receiving a lower dose of Crestor and a lower dose of Lipitor should be offered a lower dose of these drugs (Crestor vs Lipitor). Patients receiving a lower dose of Crestor would be able to reduce their LDL cholesterol and achieve therapeutic LDL levels while taking the highest recommended dose of these drugs.

C crestor 20mgwill help you to manage a high cholesterol
Crestor, also known as rosuvastatin, is a medication that is used to lower your cholesterol. It is used in combination with a healthy diet and exercise to help lower the total number of calories you burn. It helps to lower your triglycerides, which are fats that are found in your blood. When you take Crestor, your liver is unable to make enough cholesterol-ester and triglycerides. This causes your blood to become less sensitive to the effects of cholesterol-ester.
Crestor is the only statin approved by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to lower cholesterol. However, it is not yet clear how Crestor works to improve your cholesterol levels.
How It Works
Crestor is a combination of two statins: rosuvastatin 10mg and ciclosporin A 20mg. It works by lowering the amount of cholesterol-ester (bad cholesterol) in your bloodstream. Rosuvastatin lowers the amount of bad cholesterol by blocking the action of a family of enzymes called HMG-CoA reductase enzymes. This enzyme helps to reduce the amount of cholesterol in your blood. When you have low levels of good cholesterol, Crestor prevents the bad cholesterol from coming in, lowering your cholesterol levels.
Crestor is taken orally and your cholesterol should be monitored regularly. If you miss a dose of the medication, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed dose. Taking more than the recommended dose or taking this medication may increase the risk of heart attack or stroke.
Crestor is not approved for use in children. It is only given to adults for treatment of high cholesterol. It should only be used as a part of a comprehensive treatment plan for adults with high cholesterol.
Crestor is only available as a tablet and oral suspension (oral) in a liquid form. It is not approved for use in children below 18 years of age.
The active ingredient in Crestor is Rosuvastatin, the same active ingredient in Lipitor, the same active ingredient in Lipitor CR, and in Wellbutrin SR, the same active ingredient in Wellbutrin.
